Untuk kode GL itu sendiri tidak ada singkatannya, seperti hal nya honda CB dan honda CG. Awal saya mengendarai Gl Pro series atau Gl pro CDI kira-kira tahun 2000. Saat itu motor masih milik bersama karena yang membelikan adalah ibu saya. Jadi kakak, saya dan adik saya menggunakan secara bersamaan. Baru kemudian kakak saya menikah dan saya juga menyusulnya, motor GL Pro series keluaran tahun 1991 ini saya pergunakan. Ada beberapa perbedaan gl pro neotech dengan gl pro cdi/series diantaranya yang paling mencolok adalah bak magnet sebelah kiri.
